PINT WISHES GOOD SWILL TOWARDS MAN
Saturday, December 13, 2003

Cheater Pint topped off 2003 with a gig at O'Brien's Pub in Allston when they performed their new holiday song "Three Sizes Too Small."

The song was recorded and mixed at Analog Divide in Allston and received airplay on WFNX. Free CD copies were given away at the show to good boys and girls. Those not on Santa's list can download it here.

The gig also featured Bipolarcoaster, Penis Flytrap and Awakening Stick.

THE TIDE IS HIGH
Thursday, November 6, 2003

Cheater Pint, along with Ultravixen, The Charms and Loveless, was featured in the third show of Anngelle Wood and Ed Durbeck's "Rising Tide Series," a concert series that gives equal voice to female musicians and their bands.

But for bass player Steve Reynolds and his wife Lisa, this night was all about a boy- a baby boy named John Paul who arrived happy and healthy to the excited couple that evening! Congratulations!

Anticipating this momentous event, the Pint recruited *AM Stereo bassist Steve Crotty to fill in.

After all was said and done, The Pint requested of organizer Anngelle Wood that their earnings on the night be donated to the animal shelter of her choice. Visit Anngelle's site for an excellent resource on animal advocacy.

PINT PLAYS, SOX LOSE
Thursday, October 9, 2003

There are worse times to play a gig than immediately following a Red Sox loss in game 2 of the American League Championship series: after losing the final game of the League Championship series and after losing the final game of a World Series come to mind. But despite the lingering scent of sweat and sour defeat, this turned out to be a great gig.

The occasion: Midget Jesus' CD Release Party. The Pint, backed by Meaghan McLaughlin on drums, opened up with a blistering set, with the help of borrowed equipment and a skilled and attentive sound guy. (Muchas gracias!) Following were rocking sets to match by Kodachrome and *AM Stereo.

But the night was all about the Jesus. Though small in name, Midget Jesus celebrated the release of their debut CD "What Would Midget Jesus Do?" with a big sound that made us forget the Red Sox lost again to the Yankees. For a little while anyway.

PINT CELEBRATES MOTHERHOOD
Friday, July 18, 2003

Nearly everyone was enjoying a cold one at the Abbey Lounge...everyone except Cheater Pint drummer Dineli Ahearn that is. "When you say 'cold one,' I naturally assume you're talking about water," said Ahearn, "and seeing as I'm pregnant, and you're such a nice fellow, gimme a water, a gazpacho, and an ice cream sundae with nuts, whipped cream and a cherry on top. Pretty please."

That night, Ahearn made her final appearance with Cheater Pint before taking maternity leave. Sets by *AM Stereo and the Emily Grogan Band highlighted the evening.

THE PINT WRESTLES A BEAR
Sunday, June 15, 2003

Cheater Pint marked another accomplishment by making their T.T. the Bear's debut at T.T. the Bear's Place in Cambridge, MA, a club on the short list of the area's best rock venues.

The Pint was followed by the quite incredible 8-member band Head of Femur.

CD RELEASED AT LEGENDARY ROCK CLUB
Tuesday, April 22, 2003

Tuesday night's show with Midget Jesus, The Prozacs, and Kilroy marked two milestones for pub rockers Cheater Pint.

The band achieved a goal set by practically every Boston-area rock band: to play the legendary Middle East Club in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The club is known nationally for its support of indie-rock and punk acts, as well being the launching pad for many of Boston's most talented rock bands.

The event also kicked off the release of the band's latest EP "Three For Nothing". The CD, which was recorded at Zippah Studio and Qdivision, features three power-packed originals: "If I Grow Up," "Ballad of Cathy Mall" and "Heartbreak."

"Three For Nothing" is available for purchase at Cheater Pint shows.

CHEATERPINT CHANGES NAME
Friday, March 28, 2003

After much deliberation and inner-conflict, the band known and loved around the world as "Cheaterpint" has changed its name. During its first concert in several months, the band unveiled the new band name, "Cheater Pint," to its audience at the Linwood Grill in Boston, who expressed mixed reactions.

"It just doesn't have the same...panache. I'm just not convinced that it reflects the personality of the band and its music," snuffled one concert-goer named Steve. Another spectator named Jeff explained, "It's probably the best thing they've done for their music career, outside of actually playing a gig after 6 freakin' months. I'm just happy Cheaterpint— Cheater Pint, I mean— is back!"

In regards to the name change, front-pinter Lauran O'Neal expressed the need for the band to move out of the past and into the present. "With (former guitarist) Steve Kelly moving on to Guns 'n' Roses, and the impending release of our second CD, the band has a new outlook...a new perspective. It shows in our new songs and I wanted to it to show in a new moniker. A radical change like this always takes some convincing, but I'm very happy the band could agree upon a new name. I am confident the fans will accept it too."

Also revealed that night was replacement guitarist Mark Simon, previously unknown to the Boston music scene. "Do you remember the name of the drummer who replaced Keith Moon in The Who? Neither do I," he quipped. "Maybe I should change my name to something more memorable. Something with a little more...panache," he further quipped.

Despite a name change, a new guitarist, and performances of several new songs, one vital thing, thankfully, remained the same— that intoxicating and indelible Cheaterpint spirit.

Cheaterpint is dead! Long live Cheater Pint!

"When we drink, we get drunk. When we get drunk, we fall asleep.
When we fall asleep, we commit no sin. When we commit no sin, we go to heaven.
Sooooo, let's all get drunk and go to heaven! "
